As soon as you let off the gas, the noise goes away and it never happens when idling. I used my code scanner and it told me chart 15, e4 which is "oxygen sensor adaption limit, Cyl #4-6." Joined Mar 15, 2005. 3,959 Posts. #4 · Nov 9, 2005. what whistle are you referring to. when i accelerate, usually from 60-70 i hear a little whistle but that is just the sound of the engine. all bmw's, at least all the e46's i sat in have the same whistle. also, there is a little intake whistling noise as well.

Try checking it for cracks or take it to a shop and just have them replace it, it's a really easy fix. If that doesn't work, come back here :thumbsup: W.
